ESN volunteers from across Europe came together in Cluj-Napoca, Romania for an event called Community Meetings. This event gives participants a chance to learn, share their experience and connect with other ESN volunteers.
Community Meetings bring together volunteers who work in similar areas of ESN. Participants can share good practices and discuss common challenges. The content of this event includes workshops, training sessions and discussions which help volunteers develop their skills and bring new ideas back to their sections and National Organisations.
This year, the event in Cluj-Napoca brought together four ESN communities: HR & Network Community, Business & Finance Community, Communication Community and IT Community. Each community had its own programme focused on topics connected to its field.
ESN Trnava was represented by active member Klaudia Mekýšová, who is also the Vice President for Governance of ESN Slovakia. Klaudi took part in the HR & Network Community.
The HR & Network Community focuses on people and the development of the ESN network. Participants discussed topics connected to volunteers, HR, section support, onboarding or offboarding. It was also a space to share experiences from different countries and different levels of the organisation.
For Klaudia, the Community Meetings were a chance to gain new knowledge and exchange ideas with other volunteers. Her experience from both ESN Trnava and ESN Slovakia also allowed her to share the Slovak perspective with the international community.
At the same time, the Business & Finance Community worked on topics related to finances, partnerships and the sustainability of ESN. The Communication Community focused on communication, branding and the visibility of the organisation. The IT Community brought together volunteers working with digital tools and technology in ESN.
Community Meetings are an important space for learning and cooperation within Erasmus Student Network. They help volunteers connect across countries and bring new knowledge back to their local sections and national organisations.
For ESN Trnava, taking part in international events like this means staying connected with the wider ESN network and bringing new ideas and experience back to our section.
